Bill’s Update from October 2010:
Wow!…can’t believe 50 years has passed so quickly. For 43 of those 50 years, I have been blessed to live in Hawaii. After Duke, I spent the next 5 years in the Marine Corps and my last military assignment was in Hawaii teaching Vietnamese language – the language still comes in handy when I need to order a bowl of Pho in a VN restaurant?!

I also cranked out an MBA at University of Hawaii, and met and married my lovely wife, Dede, 43 years ago. We have two daughters and a grand daughter (6 years old, going on 16?!). As part of my undiagnosed salt water addiction, I have spent a perhaps inordinate amount of time on a surfboard, racing outrigger canoes, swimming, or scuba diving. And I have more recently added another addiction – trekking in Nepal in the Himalayas. On the entrepreneurial side, I have been involved for 40 years in airline and hotel startups and operations in Hawaii and throughout Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia, including Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Guam, Saipan, Marshall Islands, Palau, Port Moresby and some other diversions in Southeast Asia. Recently, I thought that it would be timely to try retirement, but after a few months lounging around the house Dede announced that she had married me for better or worse, but not for lunch. Sooooooo, I am back at work and having fun as the development guru for a hotel group (Aqua Hotels and Resorts) which currently manages 15 hotels throughout Hawaii.

I am really looking forward to seeing all in Falls Church in October!!
Aloha, Bill
